Hello, dear faithful workers, and others...

Allez!

1) Translate into French:

It’s the saddest night, for I’m leaving and not coming back. Tomorrow morning, when the woman I have lived with for six years has gone to work on her bicycle, and our children have been taken to the park with their ball, I will pack some things into the suitcase, slip out of my house hoping that no one will see me, and take the tube to Victor’s place. Then, for an unspecified period, I will sleep on the floor in the tiny room he has kindly offered me, next to the kitchen. Each morning, I will hinge the thin single mattress back to the airing cupboard. I will stuff the musty duvet into a box! I will replace the cushions on the sofa.
I will not be returning to this life. I cannot. Perhaps I should leave a note to convey the information. «Dear Susan, I’m not coming back…» Perhaps it would be better to ring tomorrow afternoon. Or I could visit at the weekend. The details I haven’t decided. Almost certainly, I will not tell her my intentions this evening or tonight. I will put it off. Why? Because words are actions and they make things happen. Once they’re out, you can’t put them back. Something irrevocable will have been done, and I’m fearful and uncertain. As a matter of fact, I’m trembling, and I have been all afternoon, all day.

Hanif KUREISHI, Intimacy.

II) Optional and for fun… CAN YOU FIND THE MYSTERY WORD? (If you do, please, hide it! )
I give you seven words and indications concerning the letters used in each word:

- The symbol : * means a correct letter of the given word is placed in the correct position in my word.

- The symbol : ¤ means a correct letter of my word is in a wrong position in the given word.
- I always give the * first, and the ¤ then:

1. B R I C K * ¤ ¤

2. B R O O M * ¤ ¤

3. U R G E S * ¤

4. A C U T E * ¤

5. W H I T E - - - - - (no common letters)

6. B U N C H ¤ ¤ ¤

7. M A R K S ¤ ¤

My Word : -?- -?- -?- -?- -?-

A lot of thanks for working with us... I give you THE FORCE...

Here is my translation: Hanif KUREISHI.

"come to my place"= viens chez moi ! => to Victor's place = chez Victor !
(7) To ring veut dire sonner, bien sûr, mais également "téléphoner", appeler !

II) Optional and for fun… CAN YOU FIND THE MYSTERY WORD?

1. B R I C K * ¤ ¤ Le R est bien placé ; le B et le C sont mal placés.

2. B R O O M * ¤ ¤ Encore le R bien placé ; R et M mal placés.

3. U R G E S * ¤ Le R bien placé et le U mal placé

4. A C U T E * ¤ Le U est bien placé, le C est mal placé.

5. W H I T E - - - - - (no common letters)

6. B U N C H ¤ ¤ ¤ Le B, U, et C sont mal placés.

7. M A R K S ¤ ¤ M et R mal placés.

My Word : -C- -R- -U- -M- -B- = une miette.

Here u are I did it quickly as you said and forgot to post it ...Will you be kind enough to accept my late work …?
