- When Susie saw the picture in the paper, she couldn't believe her eyes and seized her phone... She dialled, but her
BIG STUBBY FINGERED HAND couldn't catch the keys properly. She was mistaken, made a wrong number, got the
Minister of Health, an attractive, very popular BLUE-EYED woman who was also a heart specialist, recently arrived
in politics , unfortunately, a HARD - WORKING person in HER hospital center where her position is, by the way. Many
patients rely on her world-famous competence. She’s endowed with a quick-acting attitude, which has led her to be appointed
as minister in such a high-risk situation. After some time without saying a word, she finally spoke. "- Good morning Madam...
Mrs. Wilson looked at her vividly behind her PINK-RIMMED glasses. "-Hello miss! What can I do for you, I would like to point
out that I am not accustomed to automatically conceding interviews to reporters, except if theyr'e WIDELY-RECOGNISED
experts. More precisely madam, I am an editorial writer; I put into perspective any subject that should be WELL-KNOWN to
the VIP person who's interviewed, expressing a personal, often THOUGHT-PROVOKING point of view on an issue which is
top important for his job... Susy woke up suddenly, her curly hair blowing * on her face, she heard a violent knock on her
door again. Who could that be at this hour? She walked towards the door, panicked and looked through the pane... She saw
nobody on the DIMLY-LIT landing. Yet once her eyes got used to that strange surreal atmosphere, she noticed some
DARK-RED stains on the floor. "- Blood!" she thought. Panicked Susy walked away from the door looking around, searching
for further traces, which could let her understand something about that ODD-LOOKING event, but in vain: the staircase was
far; therefore, she came back home, with a fast gesture she closed the door, and thought of calling the police as fast as
possible. The inspector who came, a SHORT-SPOKEN man, ordered a policeman to inspect stairs and landings up to the last floor,
searching for clues. The policeman found a trampled BLUE-GREY COTTON CHECKERED handkerchief amid the victim's bloodstains.
Very little, indeed. Therefore every tenant was asked if they had some HANDS-ON information about something happening during
the night. A WELL-DRESSED old couple told them that they had heard a lot of noise from the flat above theirs
around 4 o'clock, lasting a short while. It was a sleepy MIDDLE-AGED man who opened the door to the inspector.
The DEEP BLEEDING WOUND on Rudy's left shoulder, the shutters closed in his messy apartment made him think
that something strange had happened in there: why was the apartment so TOPSY-TURVY? How was Rudy injured,
and by whom? The STRONG-WILLED officer tried to make Rudy tell something that could explain the situation, but
the man was so confused; at one moment one of the policemen brought back a piece of paper which was written
above a figure which was an enigma to him... The inspector remained surprised: the Sphinx was the emblem of the "QUICK-WITTED",
his squad, when he was in the M.I-5, he considered quickly for a moment, took his POCKET-SIZED phone in order to contact his
friend and brother in arms... but he preferred to question the wounded man first, in order to obtain FIRST-HAND information,
notwithstanding his persistent mental confusion. He was answering in a so WISHY-WASHY way, that the inspector deducted he
had been drugged. A doctor was called and confirmed the investigator's supposition, whilst the flat was deeply sifted through
with an ALL-OUT action of search, to find the answer TO THE enigma; after he had first aid, he began to recount his persistent
threats by foreign associates. While remaining an ABSENT-MINDED man, he was trying to express himself. His head was still spinning.
He had a NEVER-TO-BE-FORGOTTEN experience. The inspector was waiting for the man to say something about the little sheet bearing
the Sphinx. Unfortunately he denied that the sheet was his, and with a certain nervousness he drew the curtain and that gave the
investigating officer the opportunity to give the man a sort of THIRD-DEGREE to the utmost. Seeing how frightened this man was,
he was DUMB-STRUCK! He wouldn't want to speak. So, he promised him a FULL-ON protection in exchange for his relation about what
happened and what relation the Sphinx had with what had happened. Finally he picked up his courage to confess it was a matter of
the money that they had won at the club The Sphinx, where poker games were organized by "POKER-FACED", a card player, to take
gullible fellows to the cleaners. The wounded man was therefore assailed when going home and forced by a CUT-THROAT action to
pay the gambling debt.
