Bonjour,

Serait-il possible de me corriger ce texte sur les éventuels dangers du sport fractionné à haute intensité.
Je vous poste seulement les parties où je ne suis pas sûr de moi sur la syntaxe ...
Merci pour vos réponses.

High-intensity interval training is a form of interval training, alternating short periods of intense exercise with less intense recovery periods. Though there is no universal HIIT session duration, these intense workouts typically last under 30 minutes. A workout consists of a warm-up period, 6 to 10 repetitions of an exercise and a recovery period. Each exercise is made up of two phases. The first is a phase of intense effort, carried out at the maximum intensity of which the practitioner is capable. The second phase is the recovery phase and should be done at medium intensity.

Here is an example of HIIT :
30 seconds of jumping-jack.
30 seconds of pumps.
30 seconds of sit-ups.
30 seconds of squats.
Break during 10 seconds.
And the circuit begins again

At first, the findings were encouraging. After two weeks, the riders were pedaling harder and appeared of better fitter. Their daily blood-sugar control was better and there were more mitochondria in their muscle cells. Each of these mitochondria was also more efficient and produced greater amounts of energy than at the start.

But something began to go wrong during week three. The volunteers’ ability to generate energy while cycling reduced. Their muscle biopsies showed "damaged mitochondria" produced less energy compared to the previous week. The riders ’blood-sugar control also changed, with spikes and dips throughout the day.

After a week of lower-intensity riding, their mitochondria started to producing more energy, but with 25 percent less than during week two. Their blood-sugar levels also stabilized, but again, not to the same extent as before. The riders could pedal, however, with the same or even greater vigor as in week two.

The researchers are not sure precisely what changes within their volunteers’ bodies and muscles precipitated the negative results in week three. Apparently a cascade of biochemical changes within people’s muscles during the hardest week of exercise weakened mitochondria and contributed to the disruptions in people’s blood-sugar control.

Bonjour,

Merci d'avance.

Finally, we would to give our opinion. The results are very interesting results, but one should keep in mind that this is a small pilot study (only 11 people!) and only 1 month. The author does not this at the end's article but it's crucial to remember. Overall, when exercising it's critical to listen to your own body. It's possible the HIIT group would grow more used to their strenuous routine on a cellular level if the study was taken out several months, and see great gains eventually.

This isn't a study, it is at best a pilot project. Nobody should be giving advice on the basis of something so limited and preliminary.
