Let's suggest 75- Taking it easy21
Message de here4u posté le 30-11-2024 à 17:56:55 (S | E | F)
Hello dear Friends!

Another easy exercice that everyone can do!

1. - What's young people's main enemy?

2. - If you were to be a volunteer, what activity would you be useful at?

3. - 'All work and no play makes jack a dull boy… All play and no work makes Jack a silly boy!'

4. - Are you afraid of Time?

Go for it! with THE FORCE.

Hello dear All,

Voici notre nouvel exercice d'expression: Let's Suggest.

ANSWER A: TOPIC 1 What is the main enemy of young people?
Please, indicate possible mistakes and underline what looks clumsy.

In my opinion, young people are impressionable and impatient.
Their fault is to want everything right away, and to imagine that they have the solution for everything, when they don't know much about it. These facts are particularly striking in teenagers.
Their enemies are other people. People they admire and want to imitate, even if they're often not the best examples.
The enemy is also their naivety, the difficulty they have in knowing and building their own personalities, and their inability to admit their own fragility. They're not interested in parents' experience and advice.
What's more, they're under pressure to do well at school, and their professional future is uncertain.
And now, with social networking and video games, some of them are going completely mad. And I'm not talking about the drugs that are circulating,
There isn't just one main enemy, but a whole host of them.

for your help!

Merci Gerold pour son aide

Their fault is to want everything right away, and to imagine that they have the solution for everything(even though they don't know much about.

Their enemies are other people: people they admire and want to imitate, even if they're often not the best examples.
( The major enemies of young people are also their naivety, the difficulty they have in knowing and building their own personalities, and their inability to admit their own fragility.

Hello dears!

No more suggestions about ANSWER A?... Pity!

Here is ANSWER B: please indicate possible mistakes and underline what looks clumsy!

ANSWER B: Topic 3. - 'All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy? All play and no work makes Jack a silly boy!'
It reminds me of what one of my highschool teachers used to say: 'extremes meet', and also of a sentence I came across a few years ago: 'What is the hardest to achieve is the happy medium'... It means in a general way that the challenge is for us to find the balance between 'too little' and 'too much'. It is particularly true when it comes to education, when we parents, along with teachers, have to avoid being too rigid as well as too permissive; and this is all the more difficult than the appropriate behaviour between 'no tolerance' and 'too much tolerance' must be considered specifically for each child (or pupil). We all know children we can leave to do what they want, and others we can't, unless they will harm themselves in some way. To conclude, let's meditate on this fine metaphor : 'life as the art of seeking, and eventually finding, the 'happy medium''...159 words

I hope this (very good) EXPRESSION will inspire you. Any comments are welcome! for your help!

Hello!
... We all know children we can leave to do let do what they want, and others we can't, unless (fearing that they will harm themselves (or Lest they should harm themselves (lest = de peur que)) in some way . To conclude, let's meditate on this fine metaphor* : 'life as the art of seeking, and eventually finding, the 'happy medium''...

I'm not sure:

Aphorism: Short phrase that says something true or wise (Oxford Dict.)

Perhaps "sentence" is more appropriate here.

Sorry, I don't know why it's all blue!

Hello dears,

Here are the (very good) indications of mistakes and suggestions you have made.

ANSWER A: Topic 1: INITIAL TEXT and my preliminary indications:

In my opinion, young people are impressionable and impatient.
Their fault is to want everything right away, and to imagine that they have the solution for everything, when they don't know much about it. These facts are particularly striking in teenagers.
Their enemies are other people.(ponctuation ?) ??People they admire and want to imitate, even if they're often not the best examples.
The enemy is also their naivety, the difficulty they have in knowing and building their own personalities, and their inability to admit their own fragility. They're not interested in XXXXX parents' experience and advice.
What's more, they're under pressure to do well at school, and their professional future is uncertain.
And now, with social networking and video games, some of them are going completely mad. And I'm not talking about the drugs that are circulating,
There isn't just one main enemy, but a whole host of them.

Their fault is to want everything right away, and to imagine that they have the solution for everything(even though they don't know much about it. (OK. Précision intéressante.)

Their enemies are other people: people(éviter la répétition aussi proche…)Et ces gens sont DETERMINES…. ) they admire and want to imitate, even if they're often not the best examples.
( The major enemies of young people (Young people’s major enemies… is better.)are (is ?)also their naivety, the difficulty they have in knowing and building their own personalities, and their inability to admit their own fragility.(pour moi, tout ceci est de la naiveté…)

- highschoolUS / high-school GB(school for grades 9 to 12) Younger : Junior high.
: comprehensive school/ secondary chool.
- all the more + adjectif AS/ SINCE/ BECAUSE mais ni that ni than !
- I was all the more annoyed because she didn’t apologize.

- Laisser faire quelque chose : to let somebody do something. (We all know children that we can let do whatever they want…
- UNLESS : à moins que, à moins de : (suivi d’un verbe à la forme affirmative) : You won’t go out tonight unless you promise to respect the 11 o’clock curfew./ Let’s buy a new one, unless you think you can fix this one before tonight.

Un gros BRAVO et à vous.
Vous avez toujours la possibilité de retranscrire dans in FOLLOW UP WORK tout ou partie d'une expression ou de l'autre..., une phrase si vous le voulez ! Profitez de votre LIBERTE.
